1. Who we are
GreenTax.in ("the Site", "we", "us", "our") is operated by Purusothaman R, sole proprietor, trading as PORUZ, having its principal place of business at 170/4, Karthiga Nagar, Thanakkankulam, Harveypatti, Madurai, Tamil Nadu — 625006, India (GSTIN: 33DXTPP8527G1ZU).
For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 ("DPDP Act"), we are the Data Fiduciary in respect of personal data we collect through this website. The contact details of our Grievance Officer are at section 13.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you can exercise your rights as a Data Principal under Indian law.
2. What information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
When you submit a lead, quote-request, contact, or testimonial form on this site, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (where the form requests it)
- Your city and state
- The topic of your enquiry (solar, EV, green tax, scrappage, dealer-specific lead, etc.)
- Free-text message content you choose to include
- The page you submitted the form from (so we know which guide/calculator you were using)
2.2 Information collected automatically
When you visit any page on this site, our hosting provider and analytics tools log:
- Your IP address
- Browser type, version, and language
- Device type, operating system, and screen size
- Referrer URL (the page you arrived from)
- Pages visited on this site, time spent, and click patterns
- Approximate geographic location derived from your IP (country, state, city — not street-level)
2.3 Information from third parties
Our advertising partner (Google AdSense) and our analytics provider (Google Analytics 4) place cookies and use device identifiers to provide aggregated reports and serve advertising. See section 5 for the full list and your opt-out options.
3. Why we collect it (legal basis)
Under the DPDP Act 2023, we process your personal data on the following lawful grounds:
- Consent (Section 6 DPDP Act): When you submit a lead, contact, or testimonial form, you give us consent to use the data for the specific purpose stated on that form.
- Legitimate use (Section 7 DPDP Act): Where you voluntarily provide information in the course of seeking our calculators, guides, or research, and we use that information for the purpose for which you provided it.
We do not rely on "implied consent" or pre-ticked boxes. Each form on this site clearly states what the data will be used for and who it will be shared with.
4. How we use your information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To respond to your lead, quote-request, or contact form submission
- To route lead-form data to the partner installer or dealer named on the form (see section 7)
- To send you a one-time confirmation email acknowledging your submission
- To verify, edit, and publish customer testimonials you have submitted (only with your explicit, written, verifiable consent)
- To analyse aggregated traffic patterns and improve the site's content and tools
- To detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and security incidents
- To comply with applicable Indian law, including responding to lawful requests from authorities
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your contact details for unrelated marketing campaigns. We do not transfer your contact details to brokers, list-buyers, or marketing agencies.
7. Lead-generation flow (specific to this site)
GreenTax.in operates a lead-generation flow for partner solar installers and EV dealers. The flow works as follows:
- You read a guide or use a calculator on the site.
- You see a "Get a quote" or similar form. The form clearly names the partner who will receive your details.
- You submit the form. By doing so, you consent to your contact details (name, email, phone, city) being shared with the named partner for the purpose of providing you a quote or response.
- We forward the data to the partner via email, and store a copy in our internal CRM (the
leadstable) so we can follow up on quality and outcomes. - The partner contacts you directly. Any subsequent communication, transaction, or contract is between you and that partner — not with GreenTax.in.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing admin@greentax.in from the same email address you used to submit the form. We will then ask the partner to delete your record and remove our internal copy, except where retention is required for fraud-prevention, audit, or legal-defence purposes (see section 8).
8. Data retention
We retain personal data for the following periods:
- Lead-form data: 24 months from the date of submission, after which the lead record is anonymised (name, email, phone removed; aggregate state/topic data retained for analytics).
- Testimonial data: Retained for as long as the testimonial is published. Removed within 7 working days of a takedown request from the person named in the testimonial.
- Server logs and analytics data: 14 months in raw form, then aggregated permanently with no individual identifiers.
- Records required for tax / GST / legal-defence purposes: Retained for the period required under the Income Tax Act 1961, the GST Act, and the Limitation Act 1963 — typically 8 years.
9. Security measures
We follow the "reasonable security practices and procedures" required under Section 8(5) of the DPDP Act 2023 and Rule 8 of the IT (Reasonable Security Practices) Rules 2011. Specifically:
- HTTPS (TLS) for all traffic to the site.
- Database access restricted to the application server via private network only.
- Application secrets, including database credentials, stored in environment variables outside the source code, with separate values for development and production.
- Admin pages (
/admin/*) protected by token authentication and thenoindexmeta tag. - Personal data not stored in plain-text logs; lead-submission emails are sent via TLS.
No system can be perfectly secure. If you become aware of a security incident affecting this site, please email admin@greentax.in with the subject line "Security report".
10. Your rights under DPDP Act 2023
As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act 2023, you have the following rights:
- Right to information (Section 11): To know what personal data we hold about you and how it is being processed.
- Right to correction and erasure (Section 12): To have inaccurate data corrected and to have your data erased where it is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was collected.
- Right to grievance redressal (Section 13): To complain to our Grievance Officer about how your data has been handled.
- Right to nominate (Section 14): To nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
- Right to withdraw consent: To withdraw consent for any future processing at any time, with the same ease with which it was given.
To exercise any of these rights, send a request to admin@greentax.in from the email address associated with your data. We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days as required by the DPDP Act.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India once it is constituted under Section 18 of the DPDP Act.
11. Children's data
This site is intended for adult readers (vehicle owners, businesses, professionals) making green-finance decisions. We do not knowingly collect personal data from any individual under the age of 18.
Under Section 9 of the DPDP Act 2023, processing of children's personal data requires verifiable parental consent. We do not have a mechanism for obtaining such consent and therefore do not solicit submissions from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact our Grievance Officer immediately and we will delete it.
12. Cross-border data transfer
Our primary data processing happens within India. However, two of our service providers are headquartered outside India:
- Google LLC (Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Gmail SMTP) — United States. Google maintains its own DPDP-compliance commitments and data-processing agreements; see Google's Privacy Policy.
Under Section 16 of the DPDP Act 2023, the Central Government may notify countries to which personal data may not be transferred. As of the effective date of this policy, no such restrictions apply to the United States. We will update this section if the list changes.
13. Grievance officer
In compliance with Section 8(9) of the DPDP Act 2023 and Rule 5(9) of the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021, the contact details of our Grievance Officer are:
Name: Purusothaman R

- Post a notice on the homepage for at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
- Where we hold your email address from a prior consent-based submission, send a one-time email summarising the change.
